Most Wanted Live Action Manga Movie Ranking

i love slam dunk and i wouldnt mind seeing a US version of it, gotta find the right cast for dennis ro....oh wait...

the reason why some people wouldnt want to see movie versions of anime/manga/comics because they have too much personal feelings for them and have too much expectations. somehow for the movie version, it has to have more awesomeness than the originals.

on the other hand, i loved spiderman, x-men, ironman, transformers, watchmen...etc, hollywood has more potential than anywhere else in the world combined to make good quality movies.

i was surprised cowboy bebop wasnt on the list, who wouldnt want to see neo as spike and morpheus as jet (for the lulz)

In my opinion, only Slam Dunk, Bokura ga Ita, Kimi ni Todoke, Monster, and Ouran would make plausible movie adaptations, and Fullmetal Alchemist being very borderline. Hollywood would only be interested in Slam Dunk and Monster, or maybe Fullmetal though. Even if they did make into movie, it is probably gonna be crappy anyways. DBZ was terrible. Deathnote wasn't that good either(compare to anime). Maybe they can pull off with Slam Dunk or Monster, I don't know...

I'm suprised that Slam Dunk is still so popular as seen in this poll. I do welcome the idea though, since that was one of my first animes.

3. Kimi ni Todoke - no
4. Bokura ga Ita - no

6. Gintama - no, but i'd like to see it
7. Ouran High School Host Club - no
8. Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai - no
9. Hagane no Renkinjutsushi Fullmetal Alchemist - it could work, sorta like harry potter if they make it
10. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure - no

i just dont see shoujo type stories as hollywood films. and the shonen jump titles that have super natural abilities might have worked if it was the 90's when the teenage mutant ninja turtles movie was popular, but i dont think it'll work now.

As long as Hollywood doesn't replace them with Leather Jackets and add stupid lines like "Grandpa... Teach me to be normal... Teach me to get girls..." I guess that'll be fine...

one piece? eventhough i'm a big fan of one piece, it will be kinda disturbing 2 see a real human stretching their body parts + the 'gomu gomu no fuusen'

A Lord-of-the-Rings style Berserk LA adaptation (only darker and more gory, but nonetheless story-driven) may actually work. I'm surprised it did not make it to the list. It'd be awesome to see Gatts battle those monsters on the big screen.

Imagine something like Elfen Lied being made into a live action movie,I have mixed feelings about THAT particular adaptation.

Still waiting for James Cameron to get on "Battle Angel Alita" aka "Gunnm" he has had that in post production for about 15 years now. Main reason for "Avatar" was for him to test the system for "Battle Angel"

Monster would make a smooth transition to live action. One Piece... looks impossible to change in to a live action. One Piece fans would not like the outcome. I want to see a good Full Metal Alchemist live action... but that's another difficult one. If Hollywood is making it there's a bigger chance they screw up.

I'd like to see a live action Ghost in the Shell. But its would only be awesome with a decent budget and quality effevts and characters.

It looks like the Japanese wanted live action comedy more than anything else. I for one wanted live action Ghost in the Shell and Macross. But I am in minority.

Monster is the only one that would be a real success.

Some things are better felt 2d then making it real, and anime/manga is no exception to this rule.

Lol, Slamdunk. Reminds me of that Hong Kong movie where the main hero was a big fan of Hanamichi. He even coloured his hair red in a couple of scenes; when he beat down all the bad guys in the end and that part where he's daydreaming as Hanamichi..

Monster definitely needs a live action film. There would be little not no special effects, thus making it rather cheap, but the plot would be amazing. +1 from me.

Monster, Slam Dunk and Gintama movies would actually have potential to be good, but... Oh god, One Piece.

I also thought that FMA can be made into an Live Action movie sooner or later by some Hollywood Studio, because it might work. I also has a good story and doesn't follow too many manga cliches. Slam Dunk can also work. Monster can be made into a German TV Series....or better not^^.
