The opening and ending tunes for spoilt princess anime K-ON! has seized the top positions in Japan’s national singles chart, according to chart creator Oricon.

k-on-charts.jpg

The ED tune, Don’t Say “Lazy”, is now number one, and the OP song “Cagayake! GIRLS” is in second place, as is visible on the chart pages.

As we saw, otaku support appears to have had a part to play in this.

This seems to mark K-ON!’s ascension into mega-hit anime status…

Seriously, I love the anime, but everybody must see the songs are not even produce well enough for it to be considered music worthy of radio. Scratch that. Radio is not filled with good music, so I give up on caring.

    Comment by cloner4000

I think music likes this are a combination of not just the sound of the music..but the visual effects and how the characters is presented...

    Comment by Kevin
    06:49 26/04/2009 # ! Neutral (0)

Clearly I can see the characters when I am listening to the songs in the car. >.>

What I am trying to say is this kind of music doesn't have any merits to warrant it as something special, or anything worth of it's oricon chart position. And if you say is a combination of other visual production, than is a music video, which is something else altogether, and not music. Is sort of like how videogames is a combination of different type of art.

    Comment by Anonymous
    09:45 26/04/2009 # ! Neutral (0)

If you're going to have that kind of "requirements", you should just stick to classical music. You think something really artistic and special could top Oricon? Think again...

    Comment by Kevin
    10:37 26/04/2009 # ! Neutral (0)

And that is why almost all mainstream music in general has succumb to the Radio. Though an Anime song is an even worse choice than a j-pop song. Also I list no requirements for good music; I did deem quality of the music in K-On! low standards. Clearly you were reading something else.
    Cool kid here aren't you?

The songs are nice, all in all, but i definitely can't stop listening to the first opening from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which was far better than the ones in K-On, imo. And there was Marina in it. Uhmmm Marina fap fap fap fap

Funny but obvious lol, whenever an anime starts to get honourable achievement, ppl started to spit out negative comments on it. Much like when TNA did something amusing in their PPVs/weekly shows and WWE fanboys start to swarm around TNA's Youtube channel to give lectures on how superior WWE is..
