Gundam Unicorn Anime Due

Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Gundam Ace has finally confirmed that Harutoshi Fukui’s Universal Century novel, Kidou Senshi Gundam Unicorn, will be animated this winter.
This series marks the return to the original Gundam UC timeline and is set in the year UC0096, three years after Char’s Counterattack.
The anime will be headed up by Furuhashi Kazuhiro, whilst the original gundam designs for the novel by Yoshizaku Yasuhiko will be adapted for the series by designer Kumiko Takahashi.
Other mecha will be designed by Yoshinori Sayama and Nobuhiko Genba, and will be based upon Okawara Kunio’s design in the first Gundam series. Senior Sunrise advisor Shinya Ogura will oversee the project.
With the announcement of the Gundam 00 movie slated for 2010, and rumours that Gundam Seed will also grace the silver screen, Gundam fans now appear to have one of their best years ever, to say nothing of Bandai, as fans will obligingly snap up the accompanying merchandising and plamo too.

I read in Otaku USA that Hajime Katoki doesn't even exist; the name is a pseudonym for artists that would rather remain anonymous.
That automatically means Kunio Okawara is WAAAAY better, given that he, you know, EXISTS.
You are wrong there my friend. Hajime Yatate is the pseudonym name not Hajime Katoki.
As cool as this sounds, I think this sudden return to the UC era is going to fall flat on it's face given that we've been living in AU's for so long.
Still, if it's better than G-Saviour and Gundam Seed Destiny, I can die a happy fan.
Now then, I'll be frank. I HATED 00. I hated Destiny, not surprisingly, even more.
So even if those movies come out, I'll still be hating. But the prospect of a return to my favorite timeline will be appreciated by me at the very least. Still, it will fall flat on it's face. Nobody knows how to do a proper Gundam show anymore.
In all likelyhood, it's going to be filled with high tech CG effects and Super Mechs, both being things I don't care for.

Actually Unicorn is quite new, it is probably in the "express lane" for anime adaptation because of the high quality MG gunpla release. The truth is I like to see Gundam Sentinel get animated more so than Unicorn, seeing that it is more dated and seems to be forgotten. And, come on, ALICE system kicks ass!
Cool, I was hoping the next gundam title to be Gundam Unicorn and 'dream com true'. Can't wait to see Full Frontal & his Sinanju.

00 was good, i mostly liked the mecha designs and the story was good. destiny was crap.

Stop bashing SEED. It is most certainly not the worst gundam. I have seen all of gundam several times, and in my opinion SEED is one of the best. The worst is G-gundam, without a doubt, followed by ZZ.

I'm pretty sure that Hajime Katoki is the one responsible for the mecha designs in the novel illustrations, not Yoshizaku Yasuhiko.
Yoshizaku Yasuhiko did the character designs, Hajime Katoki (who is designing for the anime as well) did the mecha designs.

About damn time a new Gundam anime based in the Universal Century is coming because any true Gundam fan knows that the Universal Century is the pride of the Gundam franchise.

I know the UC is always the best time line, well its the original, atleast theyre following the metaplot this time, unlike all the other gundam series that are only "gundam" in name but doesnt follow the original UC time line.

but after watching almost all the gundam that came out over this...what!? 30 years or so gundam 00 is by far worst the shittiest gundam in its time line
00 was quite good in term of story and what they want to portray. Just that the ending was kinda lame. But agreed, the worst was Seed. Nothing can compare to that crap

Let see there are Z,ZZ,V,X,G,Wing,Turn A,F-91,evolution,pocket war,080,083 etc etc and you think 00 is the worst of them all. Either you are very wrong or very right,00 is rather you love it or hate it kind of show. Love the first season but second season was rather fail, so they make up by putting some good battle secne which work for me. Let see how unicorn come.

but the trone off gundam junk is F91... the story is so full with BIG gaps that the hole thing is just confusing and stupid and totaly junk. and the story... well, let it rest in a coffin where it belongs...
i dont understand why americans dub so awful (even the canadians dubs 100times better) and sensor everything they find "disturbing" worse than China and Iran.
