when it was aired in my country several years ago, they censored the blood away, but left the rest.. and they didnt censor freezer beeing cut in two halves by trunks... and i think there was still some *blood spilling from mouth*, whats ain almost every anime i think...

wel originaly it isnt a kids show... thats why there IS gore... but well it got censored and, at least in my country, we all watched it (butnthats almost i dunno.. 10 years? at least 7 or so) so.. thats a bit late, isnt it?

As far as I know, the editing of DB Kai closely follows what happened in the manga. In the manga, the death of Raditz and Gokou was not really bloody. In fact, the screenshot of Raditz and Gokou's deaths in DB Kai follows what happened in the manga.
While in DBZ in the early 90's, Toei added blood to that scene to make it more gruesome.
Hence, the editing of that scene in DB Kai is justified...

money on uncuts. also, this will make things easier for the international market since the existence of a pre-edited version will probably keep companies from further screwing it up for tv.

and, if there aren't uncuts, i'll laugh at the fact that funimation's recent uncut boxsets being the best looking version of the show sans edits.

I read somewhere they were giving DBZ a few new scenes including something about child Goku, and they mentioned they were going to censor Goku's penis because they didn't want to draw it anymore. I laughed a little. Although, I'm thinking maybe they're not sure how parents will react to something like that nowadays, and so that's why they're censoring it? Is it possible they're all getting a bit too sensitive? Needless to say, it wasn't that much of a big deal back in the....was it the '80s? Those were good times... To be honest, I was disappointed to read that--the penis thing, I mean--because it was that kind of stuff that gave Dragon Ball a certain innocent charm to it. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean. I'm not entirely sure how this is relevant.

Haven't the DBZ anime suffered enough censorship as it is on both sides? Didn't DBZ learn its lesson from the ridiculous edits that Ocean and Funimation did here in the States?
