Gonzo to Lose Strike Witches?

2ch circulates an interesting rumour of uncertain provenance: evil publisher Kadokawa may drop Gonzo as the producer of the upcoming second season of Strike Witches, supposedly as they have no need of them.
Given Gonzo’s troubles, such a move may seem less unlikely than otherwise, and all manner of utterly baseless speculation flies as to whether the likes of Kyoto Animation or Gainax might pick it up in their stead (artist’s impression below).
Even in the case of Gonzo being dropped, it seems likely that the current director, and of course the seiyuu cast, will be unchanged, so fans need not worry too much, only wait and see if this latest rumour turns out to be another dark chapter in the history of Gonzo…

Nope, just watching the show because the Neuroi are interesting antagonists (how many times have you seen the Big Bag pull the ol' "enemy just want to be friends" s part of an effective psy-ops tactic?), and the dogfight choreography is far above average. I couldn't care less about the colour of the Witches panties, though admittedly the parallels with the 'Fuhrer's Hat' episode were pretty funny.

fuck no. this show cannot get any better no matter who does it (and I should say it's not because it's already THAT good... well, it's not), but if this continues, GONZO will will sink. I don't want that, for they did some shows which I really do like. And not only me, I daresay. And yes, I know that from time to time shit happens to them anyway.

If Gainax picked it up, it would not look that subdued.
It would more than likely be given the Gurren Lagann touch, simply because of the borderline wacky nature of the series, it would translate well to visual crack cocaine.

Hopefully this news doesn't turn out to be true, as I enjoyed the first season and want more of the same, not another stduios take on it...

If this is true, the director should be killed ASAP and replaced by a thinking one... Fanservice is the very elemental rule of anime popularity in Japan among, well teenagers and above... As for the story, was there really so much importance in the neuroi? Do you suggest we go with this anime historically and swap the girls into men in full army uniforms?
