I'd call it FAKE.

They have Bakemonogatari in July, which can't be failed since the project itself is a certain raiser for a bigger Kodansha-Aniplex project. Failing this will only worsen Shaft's relationship with Aniplex, thus killing their second-most (and potentially the most) profitable anime series: Hidamari Sketch.

If they have some brains, they won't take the risk. Or maybe they will, but outsource all the damn episodes.

Shinbo did THREE series at once back in 2005 with the first Nanoha, Cossette and Moon Phase, all by different production studio. Doing two series at once is nothing to him, but it will surely corrupts Shaft's own schedule, like Negima!? and the first Hidamari Sketch.

The first Negima! OAD was already done by Studio Pastoral for the most part, the second OAD already credited the animation production as Studio Pastoral & SHAFT. Before this "corrected" leaks, the Negima! line was "Negima! OAD will change from Shaft in the final episode" and this correction comes after the studio announcement. Partly related, this same guy also said Dance in the Vampire Bund will also be animated. MoonPhase posted the news saying it will be done by Shaft but later they realized it was "2ch jokes" and deleted the article.

I'm... not too enthused.
Season two was mediocre to good, not quite as excellent as season one, but the OAD practically made me explode with win.

All in all, I have pretty mixed feelings for a season two. There are plenty of excellent manga chapters left unanimated, and some of their original stuff has been good, even updating a few of their jokes in the anime versions has proven excellent.

Of course, though, this means more Maria...

...I'm sold!

I'm replying to myself. The Negima continues with Shaft is I think, 100%. Akamatsu/Shaft did announce OAD 2 (4 parts) not long ago due to great (240,000) OAD 1 sales and they keep saying that a movie/3rd season is possible.

I don't really see the series changing studios anytime soon.
