A Certain Scientific Railgun: BiriBiri Spinoff Anime Due

BiriBiri anime A Certain Magical Index is set to receive a spinoff anime centred on fan favourite Misaka Mikoto, or BiriBiri as she is known. Index will feature minimally, if at all.
The anime will be based on a “gaiden” manga series, とある科学の超電磁砲 / To Aru Kagaku Choudenjihou / A Certain Scientific Railgun. Other details are still under wraps.
The gaiden seems to have enjoyed popularity amongst fans, so the anime adaptation seems to have a promising start.

Actually, haven't you noticed that Index is somewhat similar to Nagi (Hayate no Gotoku), but on a even lesser scale, where sometimes she appears, but is just irrelevant to the episode, while some other times she doesn't even appear on those episodes?
Like in the Accelerator/Mikoto and Accelerator/Last Order arcs.

Yeah, I've somehow managed to notice that aswell. Even if Hayate no Gotoku is more entertaining than Index I still can't stand the voice of Nagi (Kugimiya Rie). Even though, I never like the voice of Index aswell.

She is one of the weakest main characters that I've seen recently, seriously.
I never really saw Index as the "main" character, just a cute thing that dangles off of Touma most of the time.
Basically I equate her with Nall or Ruby from the Lunar video games.
She basicallyjust a title mascot after vol.3 of the light novels, with Last Order(loli Mikoto) taking over the spot of the loli-heroine(for Accelerator).

Actually, the MISAKAs (excepting Last Order) were designed to be as Mikoto at age 14. Mikoto is 15, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I wonder if its just gonna be a limited run anime series adaptation of the Railgun manga or go original episodes for a full season (or some combination thereof).
Be cool if the BiriBiri spin off and a second season of the Index series run at the same time and crossover.
Hmmm.. are they are gonna replace a "second season" of Index with Railgun instead? (As much as I like the Index series)
With only 4 manga volumes or so worth of (ongoing) story, I don't think it can go beyond the 12 episodes mark, even with original episodes thrown in...
I doubt that they will replace the real Season Two with Railgun in place of Index, seeing that there is still a crapload of story leftover from the rest of the light novels, with 2 to 3 new volumes coming out every year or so...
