Quoted for truth as they say, plus it costs a lot less too, so they can spend the money on fancy dinners, junkets abroad, and paying off their own pensions/mortgages. Indeed, for when they get kicked out for being caught with their hand in the cookie jar, despite ever increasing rates of ‘real’ crime against children (-_-)

Face it, there’s really no proof one way or the other, just like there isn’t with violent films/computer games causing actual violence in society. Believe me, none of the bullies I had to endure at school were that way because of media – they were just scumbags to begin with. As evidence, I would say banning so called “video nasties” in the 80s over here in the UK clearly had no discernable effect on crime rates in the years that followed. Long-term observation of countries with draconian sex …

Sorry, but I totally disagree. Having been into this stuff for over 25 years, I haven’t come across even a single artist or fan yet that had the urge to go out and rape real kids. There have also been plenty of studies done already that prove ready availability of porn reduces sex crime, but the moralisers don’t want to hear any of it. As far as they are concerned, sex is for procreation alone, in the missionary position, and in the dark, with earplugs in so you can’t hear your girlfriend’s …

They weren’t/aren’t (as Bill Gates is still alive, I believe) and since she said ‘otaku’ equals ‘maniac’, she is clearly potty. All of these men – yes, even Bill Gates unfortunately – were brilliant in their time, especially Da Vinci, who managed to be accomplished at both sides of the creative spectrum; a true Renaissance Man.

The Comic Book Legal Defence Fund (CBLDF) takes care of that in the States, but in Europe or any of the Commonwealth countries, you’ve got no chance unless you are bloody rich. My country, Britain has a history of abusing The Human Rights Act and ignoring The European Convention on Human Rights. It all sounds good on paper, much like The First Amendment, but you just try to gain any joy from it in Freedom of Expression cases like this. Of course, Britain is a lot better than Canada, Australia …

If you check out Wiki, you see The Protect Act has a clause that excludes drawings providing they pass The Miller Test for obscenity. Effectively, this means loli isn’t illegal in the States. To answer your question as well, we do have the Human Rights Authority and The European Court of Human Rights. However, Britain is notorious for ignoring their rulings, plus it’s bloody expensive to bring a case before these courts in the first place.

Stated age is irrelevant as they will go by how old the character appears to be. Tracking anyone down would prove impossible at present as they have enough trouble keeping track of released child abusers. I doubt anyone will go to prison over this either, with ‘cheaper’ cautions being the order of the day just to put the fear of God in people.

Well, at least you can cry ‘First Amendment’, meaning they then have to fall back on The Miller Test, which so far, hasn’t been been used in any case purely involving fictional material (that’s the impression I got from Wiki anyway).

Here! Here! Now that’s evidence-based argument, not like the crappy platitudes ‘certain people’ on here keep coming out with. I said already that I support equal rights, but not militant feminism. These stupid cows all have serious issues where men are concerned and probably all need to be pschoanalysed. In fact, I’m sure Freud would have had a field day with the lot of them.

If you don’t like it, don’t look at it! Me personally, I hate violent movies, but instead of catawalling to the BBFC’s website to get them banned, I just don’t watch them instead. Maybe you should do the same with loli and stop telling everyone how much you hate it because, quite frankly, you’re pissing me off now. Also, stop using the word paedophile until you learn exactly what it means.
