Lyrical Nanoha 4th Series: Mahou Shoujo No More

Popular eroge derived mahou shoujo anime Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha is to receive what is being billed as its “4th series”, although the new production will actually be a comic, at least to start, a change which has surprised fans.
Less surprising to fans, but possibly problematic to some, is that the series will no longer be billed as “Mahou Shoujo” Lyrical Nanoha, but as 魔法戦記リリカルなのはForce / Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha Force, senki here meaning something along the lines of “Martial Chronicle”.
The reason for the change? Nanoha is 25, and so cannot reasonably be called a “magical girl” any longer…
Predictably, a contingent of fans is complaining that they don’t want any old women in their anime.
It’s not clear whether this is intended to be adapted to an anime later, or to be part of a media mix; a comic only installation certainly would be a winding down of the series… A close reading of the announcement yields “the fourth series starts with a comic”, which leaves things open. On the heels of the movie, an anime sounds plausible…

I think it would be refreshing to watch an anime, where the fate of the world is not in the hands of a prepubesent 13 year old. Or a 6 year old, thats more intelegant and compatant and responcible then most adults I know.

I forgot about Caro...But I see her getting dropped, considering the epilogue of StrikerS. Plus there was the spin-off CD drama. I haven't heard it myself, nor seen a trans for it, but I imagine the Strikers would be featured in their own series if needed, rather than re-appearing in a core Nanoha series again...at least as mains. I can se cameos or supporting roles though.
Okay, let's hope they go back to Nanoha, Fate, and the rest kicking ass all the time instead of the constant training and over-casting they did in season 3.

I'm also hoping Vivio plays a significant role...MSLN has a history of dumping/demoting older chars.

should have made a series when they were in middle or high school. Don't they know their target demographic? The jump in age from A's to StrikersS was like the worst thing they could have done. While it won't be so bad if they only focus on nanoha and fate in this new series; based off the name of the series, I don't this will be the case.
