What probably happened is that it was ref'd from a photo.
Camera lenses don't work as human eyes do, so all sorts of perspective issues tend to crop up from ref'd works that don't get noticed in the original photo.

Even though there are details I don't like about the picture, the impressiveness of this digital painting is too much to not be given credit.
Her left knee looks a little strange. And personally I dislike ribs showing like that.
The quality of the shadows suspects a paint-over (though I don't really see why this should matter, the pic is EPIC).

shadowing is the blame... right knee is just right.. the shadowing in this pic makes it appear as near as the left knee.. which is not, fixing the shadowing will perfect the image... but still..

The reason why it seems wrong is that the left knee appears larger than the right one, so it must be closer to the observer. However, because the right thigh is at a steeper angle than the left thigh, the left one would need to be longer than the right for the knee to be nearer.
