Well, eroge aspirations aside, since you brought up the whole “purging of the anime look” thing again (which for this game was pretty minor anyway), a true story. Was shopping for console games with my sister the other day, who is a fan of mainstream JRPGs, has watched plenty of anime, and so on. As we were looking at the selection of XBOX 360 RPG games available for purchase, she flat out refused to even look at any game that had anime designs on the cover. Reason? Because it might have “cartoony graphics”. And, possibly not coincidentally, she does watch anime, but won’t watch anything subtitled either. Obviously it’s completely anecdotal, but it just reminded me that there are people out there for whom the “anime look” is a big turn-off in video games. I still say that, this obviously anime-biased community aside, they may be onto something on that front. Not trying to say it’s a good thing or anything (or that I personally agree).

This isn’t actually the finale. There will be two more additional episodes for 15 in total (16 if you count the two versions of Episode 12). (Episode 14 & 15 will at least appear on the last DVD/Blu-Ray, but will probably also be streamed beforehand like this one.)
- Yosuga no Sora Nipple Tweaking Anime:
It’s airing on AT-X — an premium anime specialty channel — at 11:30pm. Viewer ratings really aren’t particularly important in these sorts of cases; what they’re aiming for is merchandise sales.
- Railgun OVA $70 for 30 Minutes?:
Just to put it into perspective, this is completely in line with normal prices for anime OVA episodes on Blu-Ray in Japan. Shana S OVA Series: 6,825 Yen/volume Utawarerumono OVA Series: 7,980 Yen/volume Black Lagoon OVA Series: 8,400 Yen/Volume (LE) Hellsing OVA Series: 8,925 Yen/Volume (LE, 40-50 min.) ToHeart2 adnext OVA Series: 10,920 Yen/Volume (LE, no RE on BD) I suppose it’s worth mentioning that all of these are either published or distributed by Geneon, but they’re one of the few …
- K-ON! Third Season Unveiled:
The running time for the first 5 discs on Amazon (and a few other sites) is 72 minutes, which equates to 3 episodes/disc. Given that all discs are the same price, we’re probably looking at 27 episodes in all (with at least one to be DVD/BD-exclusive). So, basically, K-On!! is a two-cour show.
- K-ON!! Airs On An Incredible 28 TV Stations:
You can pretty much blame the complete collapse of the American anime market for that one. Full Metal Panic was never a particularly top-selling franchise in Japan, but was much more popular in the English-speaking world. When the market collapsed, publishers like Kadokawa and Pony Canyon had Kyoto Animation produce more shows that would sell well in Japan — hence things like Lucky Star, and K-On, and so on. So it’s not “stalling” on anyone’s part — it’s a business decision.
