I'd say the most given example are a bad case of taste disorder but then again you could simply characterise Japan as "Land of serious taste disorder" when it comes to usage of colours, clothes, thing to draw ...

Light blue stripes on white, as in the exemplary 005 (and to a lesser extent 023 - somehow shimapan don't translate well to thongs), are my favourite.
