
Furious Koreans have begun an effort to force the Japanese broadcaster of WWII parody anime Axis Powers Hetalia to cancel the series, based on angry accusations that its political satire dares to impugn the mighty nation of Korea.
However, the broadcaster points out that the “Korea” character doesn’t actually appear in the TV version at all…

The cast of Idol Master and Maria-sama ga Miteru converge in this tasteful crossover. The yuri overtones do seem out of place for a game which tends to focus on the attentions, wanted or otherwise, of the producer being directed at the hapless idols…

The SOS-dan gets some interesting musical MAD treatment in this video, which I would place in the “near chaos” genre, along with what looks to be some interesting marketing efforts in action.

A Mandarake store in Tokyo is selling what is billed as a “Famicom (NES) Complete Cartridge Set” for ¥650,000 ($7,200). The set contains 1,051 different cartridges and is reported as having every Famicom ROM cartridge commercially sold.
It is a pity they are Famicom games and not compatible with the Super Famicom that recently went on sale for $5,500, as that combination would have been enough to cement a gaming otaku’s credentials for life…

A TV programme purporting to bust lies has itself been busted for lying.
The show, ウソバスター / Uso Buster (Lie Buster), purported to concern itself such searching questions as “If you massage a Satsuma, will it sweeten?”, along with uncovering the wicked half-truths and outright fallacies spread on the Internet, which as any TV viewer will know is far less reliable than the unerring wisdom of the mass media.
