The cover art (it’s not clear about the actual content) for the Japanese console versions of X-Blades, which happen to be getting voice work by famed seiyuu Rie Kugimiya, differs rather less than subtly between versions.

The only way I would play this game is if they allowed the japanese audio because the english version makes the main character sound like a valley girl.
Ppl should know that this game is made in Russia, by the Russian studio Gaijin Entertainment. It's original name was Oniblade and has already had a PC release.
Therefore, the original voices are Russian. You can see this by noticing the lip-sync with the Russian trailer.

It's made in russia, but the Japanese dub is done by TEH RIE.
Which makes it at least 20 times moar superior than the original dub.
I don't know. If I see lipsync that doesn't match the dub I think it's really frustrating.
But I will try to find a japanese trailer and see how it sounds.
And yes, the original Russian voices will be available in the english version.

I played the game at last year's Games Convention in Germany. Nice, but too short.
Back then, they had posters with the original cover everywhere. I have one. Nobody said anything about it being changed for the western version. Aw~

It was a pretty mediocre game. If it were more eroge in nature, I think it would've made it just a little better, though not by much...

Frankly I love all those little extras, I might of payed more attention to the game if it showed that on the cover but alas I saw the censored cover and kept browsing through other titles at the store.(I know, I know don't just a book by its cover but when its behind glass, its different...)

I think the covers speak volumes what Ubisoft thinks of their respective audiences. Xbox = prudes, PS3 = perverts, Westerns = no taste :P

Well clearly somebody cares or they'd have sold no units. I have a Wii and PS3. The Wii is awesome for the kids and the PS3 is awesome because of the shear amount of things it can do as opposed to the Wii/360 which are just game machines.

Also, the game doesn't even look that good. Try some AAA titles, raise your standards. There are plenty on both systems, both exclusive and multiplatform.
I've said elsewhere that a Sony which is not in a position to launch a competitive PS4 would leave the (gamer) console market without any competition for MS, which is hardly likely to encourage competitive pricing and innovation.
Who else would step in to challenge them?
Or, more to the heart of the matter, is Nintendo even capable of such a feat?

This is what PC gamers have enjoyed, competitive pricing on hardwares. ATI and nVidia have been one-upping one another that prices of cards have fallen so good that I could actually afford a HD 4850 now.
I'll wait a few years of one-upping from Sony and M$ before I get one of the next-gen consoles. Till then, I'll wait for PC ports.
At least, when I get my console, I'll have a great library of games to choose from, like I did with the PS2.

with the ps3 and its advanced hardware all i can think of is the dreamcast and how everybody said it was ahead of the times. im having the same arguements with ps3 fanboys as i did with sega fanboys some of them are even the same people. if sony ends up like them then the gaming market is doomed. microsoft would take over and just start producing shitty games and everyone would buy them because theyre sheep its pretty sad when you think about it. it will be the gaming market crash of the 80s all over again.

What western companies? we're talking about MS and their endless funds here, it's not like ubisoft or any other developer is in a position to pose any threat to jpn developers, in JAPAN.
My rant is about Japan buying those western products due to the lack of reaction on Sony's end.
I do blame Sony more than anything here.
For starters, every game from the major jpn 3rd parties should have AT LEAST been multiplatform, if not exclusives for PS3.(thinking about vesperia, so4, IU, LR & Dead Rising that started it all)
Then you've got Atlus that keeps releasing their flagship series on PS2, that certainly doesn't help.
What does Sony do about it, absolutely nothing. (except securing versus 13, if there's any truth to that at all)
But in the end, what can Sony do against an opponent with endless funds?
Btw Japan wouldn't have needed to move in on the western market, since it created it in the first place.
