Minami-ke Okaeri Complete Disaster – Fans Rage Over Error

The latest series of apprehensively awaited baka-yarou anime Minami-ke, Minami-ke Okaeri, has arrived, and episode one is already attracting harsh censure for its sloppy production values, with an especially major error being rapidly detected by the critical engine that is 2ch.
You can see the glaring error which has so outraged fans below:
As you can see, what is written on the document is 寝むそう / nemu sou, incorrectly meaning something along the lines of “apparently sleeps”, instead of the correct 眠そう / nemusou, meaning “looks sleepy”.
A truly shocking example of poor production values. There are some suggestions that this might be a joke based on the teacher, but which seems more likely, a joke, or Asread quality?
Just how so blatant an error found its way through QC is surely a sad indictment of the Asread production process. Perhaps it was they who were sleepy? Was the effort of drawing faces on the background characters too much for them? Is this to be Okawari all over again?
Leaving aside this colossal disaster on the part of Asread, fans are mostly rather positive, going so far as to guardedly revise their previously vitriolic disparagement of the studio.
Praise for the humour and upbeat atmosphere of the show is not lacking, so it seems Okawari may have been the unfortunate nadir of the series after all.
Most do retain some reservations about the character design and animation quality however. certainly, some slightly strange frames are in evidence.

I don't really mind since they still get something from from the articles (enjoyable outrage in many cases it seems), so I think such articles have different levels for different readers.
i sometimes think we could even up the level of the articles further. Twill provide even more outrage as less and less people will get it ;).

Well, look at it this way. If the animation and character designs are shit from ep 1, it can't possibly fall into the trend of "Going downhill after the first episode".

Just watched the first episode. For me okawari wasn't that bad (I even prefer okawari character design over the first season) but okaeri fail me... the anatomy look strange and inconstant, worst of all is Touma my favourite character looks like a boy not a cute tomboy-ish anymore T-T
That's called plot progression: the Minami sisters are working on making her more boyish, duh.

I didn't think of Okawari as a disaster :\ The characters in this one look a little pale and tired.
What the hell are you mumbling about? OKAWARI WAS AND IS GREAT. Probably better than the first series even. The only part of Okawari I didn't like was the damn megane-boya neighbour, but that is just because I hate ugly and pathetic people.

They shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves fans if they call a show a complete diaster over such a minor detail which can easily be fixed for DVD release if need be.

It's not a complete disaster, but the quality is rather bad. I guess I'll have to wait till I watch for a final decision.
Well, at least they tried to make it like season one, to a certain extent. Apparently, "Don't fix what isn't broken" is a foreign concept to Aslead. Looks to be like there's a lot of animation quality this time around too.

Agreed. The writing style is one of the main reasons I read the articles here. A lot of the comments, though... well, I can normally a reason to facepalm at least once.
We're here, we don't just think "WTF" and then light-speed hit the comment button before thinking.

it looks like season 2 without the shadows. It's fine atm. I am happy.
From the opening the 3 brothers are back. And everyone but neighbor boy seem to be here.
The only real big thing you notice. Money was cut. The two companies REAALLLLLLY SHOULD NOT work together. One style mixed with another is weird.
FYI Asleed's look is closer to the manga. Waiting for better raws otherwise.
The neighbour boy was filler, and they had him leave in the plot, so that's fine. Basically a temporary romantic interest so that people can pair off the crossdressers.
Sure are a lot of casual fans here. True fans would never forgive such an error.
The guy in Pic. 12 looked like Kyon in some ways to me.
Pic 16 reminds me of Itsuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Second season is rumored to start in April, but I don't buy it; not until I see it. Doesn't mattter anyways I already read the novels (They are amazing).
Hm, a lot of the characters look convincingly older (that is, older, but not *older*). I wonder if it's not too jarring, but on the other hand, I can see that as a good thing too.
Well, they're all about a year older or something, since it's a consecutive Christmas.

Once Okaeri is finished, I'll download all the episodes & watch them. Honestly, I found Okawari to be fine (except Fubuki hardly being any screen time). I enjoyed both seasons of Minamike & I'm sure I'll like this one too.

I never thought okawari was that bad. The only things that really bugged me were the character designs and the color pallet.

I've yet to see any official evidence of the romanisation, save your cap. They don't even have a website, and it gets romanised both ways in the names of a dozen other companies. So I'm still sceptical (not that I'm saying Aslead is any more credible).

Well, I liked this episode... For some reason, the feeling I got after watching Okawari disapeared.. I felt like I was watching Minami-ke again! Really... Okawari disappointed me! I think first season's episode was funnier than the whole second series!
About Okaeri: No ecchi scenes! Hurray! And you've got to agree that this episode WAS funny!!! Kana will always crack me XDDDDDD And that Takeru, for God sake, get a life!
Well, that misspel and some animation frames need to be corrected, that's true, but, if I was going to give Minami-ke Okaeri a grade, it'll be 17/20!
There are definitely ecchi scenes in Okaeri, look harder.

The first season is one of the best comedies I've ever seen. But Okawari was such a huge disappointment that I'm thinking it a lot to watch Okaeri. I'll give it a try when it'll be finished.
I liked this season the only thing I didnt like was how the opening was like damn near in the middle of the ep and the same thing with the closing credits it was all retarded and stuff, otherwise I though it was fine but season 1 and 2 were better.

Okawari was really good and really funny, you fans say that is the worst only for the animation ¬¬', and now with okaeri, just laugh people, is funny so laugh!
