The first few drops hurts and stings, but once you go past that stage, you can feel the heat and pressure but stimulating at the same time. It just isn't the same as just pouring wax on yourself.

Some of these are really cringe inducing. Even to the point of getting a strong urge to cut them down before they get some internal hemorrhaging action going on.
It's 99% safe and despite the look of it there won't be any internal hemorrhages. One of the fascinating qualities of kinbaku/shibari is that it can be extremely tight while still not hindering blood flow at all. That is, if done right - some of the images here show techniques that need a lot of experience to be executed safely. But as far as I can tell, they are.
And of course, some positions are MEANT to be painful...
