As promised, the censorship in the legendary no pantsu episode of Strike Witches has been eliminated in DVD volume four, leaving the title at borderline loli ero-anime status. We even see in detail the smooth contents of Gertrud’s pantsu like things…

If you observe the above comparisons closely, and refer to the preview comparison if necessary, you can see that in addition to erotic upgrades, the animation and character designs have been improved significantly, making this a well rounded release.
There are some amusing touches, like the reduced size soap bar (animated, enlarge to view):
Most interesting is this, showing Gertrud to be apparently paipan, or devoid of pubic hair (animated, enlarge to view):
This is about as extreme as it gets in non-ero-anime. Maybe Gonzo is thinking of the possibilities in this area?

So it seems a resoundingly positive verdict in favour of the DVD version, not that this was not already one of the best episodes of the series, before it succumbed to drama.

Sometimes (to me) the clever coverups, are better than the full frontal.
All that's on the DVD is the two episodes, both clean endings and adverts for the next DVD, CDs and books etc.

Just saw the StrikeS fansubs.
They actually went in and redrew the bar soap slip and tree climbing frames to show the outline of the labia (removing the bar of soap and the twig that hid them in the dvd version).
At first I thought Gonzo had really gone extra-ero on us, before I saw their comment about what they did and then remembered this news bit).
And another nonsensical ero series continues to get undeserved attention.
