I'm not an expert on bird anatomy, but there doesn't seem to be enough neck present to be compatible with life. A bird doesn't live on its spine alone.

In any case, it is probably real, birds do not respond in the same way as humans to injury. For one their brains don't need as much blood, so they don't bleed all that much from neck injuries.

Yes, but from the looks of it all the muscle and connective tissues in the 'photo' are gone... so there is no way for it to hold the fully intact head up, it would not have the ability with the muscles gone. Plus it should be bleeding all over.

This only addresses this specific point: most birds are much slighter than we imagine due to feathers; they are basically lightweight lizards underneath, especially non-table birds. It's possible it only lost the skin? Not that that would help it...

The pictures at the bottom image 7 and 8 - are pictures from before the gull was attacked.
IMO image 6 would be before image 1. Since the predatory bird likely hit him for a stun, then landed and ripped the it's throat.
That and the neck isn't showing room for the gull to have an actual throat. It looks like bone and muscle with no in-between.

My great-grandmother told me that a chicken sometimes runs away after you decapitated it. It runs just a few seconds, but that's enough to take those pics. But I think this special one is shopped cuz the neck seems too long.
Hate to break it to ya, but it's more akin to an epileptic fit than running, the body spazzes out and is a rather grotesque sight to behold when you haven't cut the head clean off.
Agreed that it's a shop, doesn't look like enough neck to breathe with or hold the head up, and the idea that a hawk didn't actually eat the bird seems unnatural.

The bird in this pic is way better off than Mike, who could preen and crow without any head at all. (though the crowing sounded more like gurgling.)

could be happened, sometime when i killed snake or some animal, they still move about 5 min or so. Like they die but somehow they body can act on its own. Just like human when they die, sometime they can still open they eyes or moving their body after they die. Some time ago, some scientist even make a dog live on its own with just its head. LOL

The bird is prlly dead. But if it's like a chicken, in which the body will run around even after the head is severed, the body is moving due to the last nerve impulse it received before connection to the brain was severed

Even without a head, if the stem is still attached, the chicken is actually alive and can remain that way until something else kills it.
That goes to show how little chickens use their brains...
