    Honestly not surprised at all. A female friend of mine showed me one of her Johnnys (the premier Japanese male idol company that virtually controls the music industry in Japan) magazines, and it had one of the Jnrs groups (don’t remember their name) all shirtless and stuff in photos. I think the oldest was 11 or 12…

    Old Japanese women go just as ape over young Japanese boys as old Japanese men go for the girls. Some would say they’re even worse (Johnnys female fans have been known to physically attack each other/their idols…).

    I’m actually a fan of Johnny’s…. but… for the guys who are 20ish and those older than me.

    Older teen and adult women thinking the Juniors are cute is fine, that’s like thinking babies and small children and kittens are cute. Thinking they’re sexually desirable is kind of wrong XD;;;

    First reaction was “Ugh.”

    But this feeling of discomfiture soon turned to understanding. Surely if this were a 9-year-old girl, I might say something like “how cute.”

    I must admit that it seems strange that anyone might like this. But not really. I guess I just realised how easy it is to pass judgement on people based on their predilections. The people who like this are weird, but I’m pretty fucked up too.
