Just wanted to note that March's Lion isn't aimed at a female audience, but towards a male audience. Her former work "Hachimitsu to Clover" was intended for a female audience, though.

Sure, its about violence, but its not just violence for the lure of violence. Everything does have its place and its use of violence/rape is a tool to bring the story further. Its a difference between it having a story and having violence in it, and being a story ABOUT violence.
For that I read Gantz, now that is a manga about violence (although quite good still, but the story isn't really evolving).

Sorry, but anyone who says Berserk is not about violence is in self denial. While it's true that it does have an epic and excellent storyline, oftentimes it just turns into another convenient excuse to engage in more gratuitous violence.

Berserk cannot be berserk without this violence, but it'd also be only a fad without the storyline.

The manga is pretty brutal, but the plot is wonderful... there's been dips in quality though, but overall this is a VERY good series.
