They are female in the anime, there is a scene of them sleeping naked with the dual sword guy, legs wrapped around him. At the same time... lucky..

If there was going to be a second season then there would have to be a sequel to the original game first. Plus an older Aruru just seems wrong, she would loose her loli moe-ness if you aged her.

There are some though that strongly believe that Dorii and Guraa are female in the anime, no matter how many times you tell them that they are canonly male.

I played the game and after that I watched the anime and I would say that the anime was fairly good, though they did leave out some important things. Compared to many anime that are adapted from eroge, the Utawarerumono anime was much better than I expected.

Guraa and Dorii are definitely boys in the game. They were left deliberately androgynous in the anime to keep us guessing.

Would've preferred a second season with older Aruru, but more Utaware is always a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm jumping for joy over the remake. But I want OVAs. Kara no Kyoukai style OVAs, with Fate/stay night style character designs.

OH FUCK YES. Utawarerumono was one of my favorite anime for a while. Hope to play the game soon.
Giving it a mature appeal only makes it even better.

I'm a huge fan of Utawarerumono (took me months to remember how that was spelled.) but I gotta say...Really? I understand Utaware still has a faithful following, but if they're gonna put out OVAs for this, where the FUCK are my GOD DAMN Tsukihime Sacchin OVAs!?

Oh yes! Finally! I've been hesitant on this series for quite some time, but seeing an ero ova on the works I'll go and buy the dvd's now. lol Kinda reminds me of Green Green Erolutions ova and the 3 short yuri stories.

Having been an Utawa fan for quite a long time, this can only be good news. I do hope though, that they use the same voices, it would be strange otherwise I think.
