Fuso Imperial Navy Flight Simulator

Strike Witch and Sergeant of the Fuso Imperial Navy Yoshika Miyafuji is here engaged in flight training using an Imperial Flight Simulator.

There are in fact various mods for the likes of IL-2 Sturmovik and BF1942 which feature striker unit using witches, but most will likely settle for a readily downloadable STG game instead

Strike Witches in IL-2? Do want :D

Would a link, or perhaps a few screens, be too much to ask for?

Found some videos of 1942 and IL-2 skins on Nico.
The only IL-2 mods I could find online (admittedly I only looked for a few minutes) were skinned Itaki – planes decorated like Itasha. the BF1942 mod seems to be a normal fighter plane that has the same dimensions and appearance as a Strike Witch that the player needs to board and take off with normally.
I took 2 screens in case you don’t have a Nico account:

Here’s a longer 6-min long video of a group of IL-2 Strike Witches Itaki fighting Neuroi-skinned fighters:

I found some videos of a BF1942 Yoshika mod and several IL-2 Witches skinned Itaki (planes decorated as per Itasha) if that helps. The BF1942 mod seems to replace the standard fighters with a hovering Yoshika that has to be boarded and flown off the deck/runway normally. I didn’t find any similar mod for IL-2, the best I could was the Itaki series.

(My first reply seemed to be eaten, perhaps the comment system weeds out posts with too many links in it?)

Guess it was my browser acting up then – I meant that I made one giant comment, then later made these 2 smaller ones.

How about a tutorial on making a Nico account? I’m sure some readers here would find it useful to be able to use Nico but can’t figure out how to do it by themselves. I say that because I think I remember someone asking about a Yahoo.jp account tutorial (or it was a different site, I forget.)

A number of people have been asking such questions.

I’m thinking a simple Wiki might be more appropriate, as writing everything up and keeping it accurate really demands community involvement.

For example, I would be ill placed to write about ordering from Amazon.co.jp as I have never used it internationally, and revising articles regularly to keep them accurate is not really ideally done on the main site.

If people are game, I will get something up shortly (currently still implementing a forum)…

I did a few skins for IL2, nothing too great but they do as a quick somthing to make your plane stand out in multiplayer.

I’ve got Lynne, Lucchini, Sanya and a Neuroi on my PB account (saved as .png because PB hates .bmp). I’ve also got on my other drive Shirley, Sakamoto, Trude and a WiP Minna which I’ll try to get around to doing at some point this week if people want.

Where should I put those skins ? In paintschemes-skins ? They are there but IL2 is not detecting them. Same goes for nosearts, I’ve put them in noseart but IL2 in’t detecting them too. What should I do ? I got IL2 Forgotten Battles + Ace Expansion Pack + Battle over Europe + IL 1946 Neuroi goes Go-229, Lynne to Spitfire ( which version exactly ? ), Lucchini goes to MC-202 or MC-205 ? And what about Sanya ? Mig, Yak or LaGG/La ?

I’ll have to dig up my old HHD and get the rest of the skins put up, hopefully for this weekend, along with a fix for the Neuroi skin (after watching the series again I realised my skin wasn’t as detailed as it could be, so I’m gonna work on that).
I have put the charlotte skin up now though:
    http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s52/Kichigai_neko_nyo/IL2%20noseart%20files/P51_charlotte.png

For those that need to know where the skins go:
Lynne – Seafire (Spitfire MkXI skins WiP)
Lucchini – Mc202/5 series (iirc it works on both)
    Neuroi – Go-229A1
    Charlotte – P51
Sanya – Yak series (Mig skin might appear at some point)

Nose art files go into noseart folder, choose a plane and country that allowed nosearts on their planes (USA mostly) and choose the desired noseart from the menu on the arming screen.

You’ll need to convert any of the above from .png to .bmp for them to work in game

Also I’ll try to get the multiplayer regiment files together again so you can pick the ‘501st’ as a regiment to fly during multiplayer ^_^

I managed to run a couple more off today, 2 Neuroi skins (He-Lerche-IIIB2 & Me 163 Komet) and Erica’s skin (made for, and tested on, the Bf 109-G2 though should work more or less on the other versions).

Again, you’ll need to convert from .png to indexed colour .bmp for the game to pick them up.

Skins and screenshots can be found at:

Will be attempting Trude’s again at some point tomorrow if I get time.

Trude has now been finished, only Miyafuji and Perrine to go now ^^

I would love to have some Strike Witches models for IL2. Not sure how they’d work, but I probably wouldn’t care if I could zoom around the sky as Sakamoto ^_^

Until then all we can do is use the existing models and skin them up.

Hmm, maybe it might be worth a look into getting BF1942 if I can find those models ^_^

In the meantime I’ve finished a new Lynette skin, for those that prefer the Spitfire over the Seafire.
Miyafuji, a revised Sakamoto and Perrine skins are still to follow, I aim to have those done on (or by) the weekend.
In the meantime for those that would rather not faff around with converting files, here’s a .rar of all skins so far.
Afraid it’s on MegaUpload as I’ve nowhere else to host it as of this time, but yell if you’d rather have it hosted elsewhere.

Perrine’s skin has now been done and can be found at the above Photobucket link. Fine tuning the Miyafuji and new Sakamoto skin and then that’s that.

After that, if no-one has any requests for any other skins they’d like, then my work here is done ^^

Miyafuji and Sakamoto v2 now done and dusted.
Megaupload to A6m5a folder (they work with all A6M versions excelt the sea-plane varient). The .rar contains the previous Sakamoto skins plus a really early FSN skin that was made a few years back.

    Preview pics can be found:

That about wraps it up for these now, unless anyone else wants more. I’ll update my photobucket with any new skins I make, but won’t post about it here unless requested.

    Hope you enjoy ^^
