Also, KnK was somewhat well known to serious Typemoonists as the precursor(almost-prequel) of Tsukihime; thus artwork was danbooru'ed or 4chan/a/ned quite early; the character design became popular; then the movies were announced.

It boggles me how Shiki Ryougi is so popular, considering she's only in a Japanese-only, doujin game group-published novel that hasn't spawned a manga or anime yet.

It might have to do with its tenuous connection with Tsukihime, but even then I've only gotten into the game and manga recently.

I'm finding it amusing that the police keep looking for a non-existent culprit when the real one is standing in front of them, and instead only arresting him for having a BLOOD-STAINED weapon. They didn't even question where he got the weapon, why it was stained with blood, and who's blood it belonged to? I also find it interesting that the guy wants to commit seppuku to atone.
