Eroge Failure – Sengoku Hime

holy shit... now that's some fail.

Two of the male characters seem to resemble Gackt, which disturbs the hell out of me.

Other than a few pictures with bad proportions, I fail to see what is wrong with this game. Yes, the graphics don't quite match up and the moe moe girls can seem jarring when alongside more realistic character designs.

While I might download the HCG, I would never pay for something like this. Most of these games are horrible to begin with, hopelessly primitive gameplay and static graphics do not excite the senses, but the HCG is good for a fap or two.

sounds like they're attempting to remake UnderwaterRayromano with less tails and ears... but failed -__-

It ever amazes me, why do the japanese folks *keep* on tolerating that censorship. Change or remove that bloody, ancient #175 for crying out loud... *sigh*

This game looks like it has over a dozen artists doing character art.

Of course, I have to say most eroges I've seen have more skillfully done art than this, but most of these still aren't that bad, imo.

the game is particular hard to complete, different characters different storyline, example yishohiro's storyine needs u to conquer whole of japan, not jus defeating nobunaga only, u had to fight all the way till u defeat masamune which her area is at sedan and most north of the map(which she will automaticly conquer by herself while u yourself starts at the most south) while kenshin's storyline jus require you to conquer half of japan after defeating a certain clan, there is also a freemode where u can chose watever warlord your choice but no eroge sence included and the conditions are also different, i chose masamune and i jus hav to conquer nearly quater of the map

artwork wise it is not that good, especialy the PSP versions where they hav different artworks even though the same pose and many sence are missing

Wow, this causes very conflicting emotions. I love eroges with actual gameplay, which causes me to want this game, yet at the same time, I've now seen the art, which causes me to not want the game.

Fail. But some were not bad...

The main artist's work on his page are pretty good in its own way. But imo its not a drawing style suitable for eroge games. Most noticible is the colouring style he uses... Its rather flat and it seems hes more used to oekaki palletes etc.

What fails most is how different the contributing artists' styles are... There must be like 5 or 6 different artists judging from the character drawing styles i see here... Its like they're all from a different game or something. Its like..Imagine if you're watching "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu", and Yuki looked like shes drawn by the Clannad artist, while Kyon looks like hes drawn by the Samurai Champloo artist.

Wow, this is the first time I ran to a official game with anything below impressive art. And to make it even worst, it's a mix of high and low standard.

Man, I hope this doesn't become a trend.

I would say that a couple of oppai pictures seem to have the breasts pasted on from a different drawing.

Some pics are not completely bad... but yep, FAIL.
I wouldn't pay that much for a reasonably good title, much less a game with tons of awful artwork with the worst proportions I've ever seen in a eroge.

Honestly looks like par for the course as far as the h-games I've played are concerned.

Then again, I throw away the word 'standard' the few times I ever started any of them up.

Some of the art stands on it's own...sort of, although I wouldn't pay for a few pictures, the gameplay looks intriguing, I have a thing for games that offer something unique, but of course, if I wanted a tactical strategy based eroge, I have Koihime Musou, or Daibanchou, all in all, would play if offered, but not willing to cough up money for it.

The battle sim part of the game looks like it might be interesting...as does the blonde giving the foot job :)~ Not saying I'd drop a hundred bucks on it though...

It looks like they mish-mashed two artist's work together. So some is subpar, some is...normal.

And, omfg, Orange-kun (sengokuhime-48)?

It's not *dreadful* - I've seen plenty of doujin games that were a thousand times worse art-wise. But it definitely doesn't look up to the standard of a full-price title. At a price of ¥1800 instead it would do just fine....

Hmm...It all depends on the story and gameplay on my part. At least the images are not that badly done.

The breasts are some of the most terrible I've ever seen. -_-

I don't think the "bad" comes from the pitures, but rather how inconsistent pictures are. Its as if they got randoms to submit artwork (like how Famitsu shows off readers art) and they just used them.

Like the sentiments stated before, I'd have a hard time linking the various pics to a single game (or three) if you did not tell me so.

I guess this is what they mean by trying something "different" ? :3
