Meanwhile, in the USA (Nevada atleast), women are flocking in droves to get jobs as brothel workers. The economy had gotten so bad that long-travelling truck drivers had seen state-okayed prostitution as a luxury they can't afford.

Hmmm... I'd ask for a bit more honesty in the Idol business. But then the women one would get would be as ugly as hell.

And I don't really want to see the end come for the Idol business. Just the end of the public humiliation. The women over there sing good, look good, do good voice-acting work, etc. Who needs more pressure?
