An idol wearing shimapan (striped pantsu) and a shirt.
It seems shimapan enjoy great popularity, though thus far this seems to be chiefly limited to 2D.
I came upon the following exchange on 2ch regarding this curious issue:
“Are they fools? Why don’t they wear shimapan?”
“Y’know, if you actually go into a department store and look at the ladies underwear section, you probably won’t find any. Not many places actually sell them.”
I wonder if this is true? You’ll have to excuse me if I refrain from any investigative reporting, however.
Certainly, in Japan it seems the normal style for ladies is white (with the obligatory little faux ribbon)…
After seeing this I checked out the underwear section at my local department store, just a quick walk trough it while my sister was looking for clothes to try on, and I saw quite a few shimapan, at least 1/5 of the collection. While I didn’t see any blue on white, I did see purple, green, turquoise or red on white, and lots of others too.
Well, I guess it depends on where you live and what is fashionable there at the moment.
This seems like such a lolicon thing. I like to see lacey, elegant, sexy panties, please.
Lolicon stuff tends to mean “I’m cute and innocent! I’ve never even heard a word like “sex” before!”
stuff like sexy underwear can scream out “f♥♥k ME!”. It’s like delicious, expensive candy wrapped in an equally expensive, fancy wrapping. So, naturally, it’s supposed to be the hotter one in comparison.
You can find different kinds of shimapan at http://www.yesstyle.com/ for sale finally.
THAAANK YOU.
i love the little ribbon on regular pantsu.
but shimapan is so good too.
my girlfriend has a pair, though they’re a bit darker in colour. I had no idea that a new subculture around this has popped up.
geez Japan is slow on undies?
Stripped Panties are available in the USA.
we have all kinds. ^_^
i doubt they will become popular in Japan stores due to Otakuism.
