After seeing this I checked out the underwear section at my local department store, just a quick walk trough it while my sister was looking for clothes to try on, and I saw quite a few shimapan, at least 1/5 of the collection. While I didn't see any blue on white, I did see purple, green, turquoise or red on white, and lots of others too.
Well, I guess it depends on where you live and what is fashionable there at the moment.

it might be because you like lolis. it might also be because stripes help to accentuate the figure, especially when the lines are more skinny and frequent. But I think lolicon would actually like them with less stripes, thicker lines, as things that allude to sexiness makes a loli seem less like a loli, as it's less innocent.
