Now that’s just mean…
They actually went and made more of this overhyped shit ?
Boo !
I think somehow your comment got transported from the intended post…
Not at all, just where i intended it to be. SZB is an ill-congrued construct out of snot and crap, and never should have been born into existence.
Oh, shut up.
I’ve enjoyed SZS quite a bit. The bitter, observational humor feels to me like an angry, animated Jerry Seinfield, which in my book would be top notch. Though I’ll admit the first episode of ZSZS really sends you for a loop throughout the first 10 minutes or so.
Well you know what they say: “十人十色/Different strokes for different folks”. Personally I feel Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is a much more substancial anime than Lucky Star as it attempts to delve into the deeper aspects of modern society rather throw a bunch of pop culture references on top of mediocre humor/character interaction.
I like both! Do I get a prize?
You get one free internets!
I’m not really into either, they both seem sort of pointless. allthough I can atleast sit through SZS without raging, and certain episodes are pretty funny, but more than half of them just feel really boring and pointless.
all in all I think SZS isn’t really a terrible anime, it just could have used some “real” plot instead of just a bunch of gags linked together.
Such is the way of satire. Personally I think it’s a brainier kind of entertainment than most, especially when you chew on some of the themes it present. This is probably why I love it so much.
I understand what you’re saying, but I also think that you’re looking at the wrong direction if you’re looking for a plot in any slice of life-like anime.
SZS would be pointless, like you said, if it was actually supposed to have a plot. But more often than not, slice of life is about just a everyday life depicted, usually in a satirical fashion; it’s more focused on character interaction and atmosphere.
I loved what they did to Lucky Star :D
Lucky Star sucks
