The first Strike Witches DVD has been released and as anticipated it offers pantsu-like things rendered in unprecedented visual quality, and devoid of any unfortunate meteorological phenomenon.

As you can see, the first episodes were probably foremost amongst the entire series for painstakingly reproducing every crease and fold of not-pantsu on witch flesh.

The special extras have attracted some attention, including amongst the usual slew of booklets and CDs an intriguing tarot card set, should your average Rider-Waite deck not include enough of the Axis powers for your divinatory needs.

The extra illustrations on the DVD, below, are appealing, but none too risqué, unless we are to award bonus points for a twelve-year-old nestled snugly between the breasts of a sixteen-year-old, which I suppose we should. More exposure will presumably come later.

The next DVD is the first where bathing scenes start to come into play, so we shall soon see whether the promises of topless loli yuri action in fine anatomical detail come to pass (it would be something of an upset if they did not).
Tide yourself over on the Channel.

Ohhh, that’s a rifle shell.
I would like to ask…how’s the dvd version size…are they in HD?
DVDs are never HD. They are always DVD resolution, which is 720×480 in NTSC land, and 720×576 in PAL land. Japan is NTSC.
The tarot cards include images of four or five other girls who, at this point, we know don’t show up in the series at all. Do we have any clue at all about who they are, and why they’re on the cards?
If they’re not random characters, then in all probability they are from the original works.
If you look at the Deep Strike Gallery you can see a number of such official characters who didn’t make the cut, and there was the case of the figure Yoshika was given.
The franchise has actually been going for quite a while and has a lot of things which didn’t make it to the anime or OVA.
