We may have seen some disastrous efforts to render Idol Master characters in unusual mediums previously, but this time things look much more favourable. 如月千早 / Chihaya Kisaragi is given a wooden workover, and it looks to be an impressive work. The base used is actually said to be a cutting board…

The carving is based on the jacket illustration of the character CD:

The carver draws attention to the lips, which he seems pleased with.

Looks better than the cell phone carvings, but things just look out of proportion. :D
I guess that's the best, since using a wood board is as 3D as it gets.
