Nice to see some young ladies particpating in a fundoshi festival, and not just because of the choice of underwear.
However, I am curious as to what they are wearing underneath those open tops… If you look closely below at a similar photo it seems rather ambiguous.
In case you are curious about types of fundoshi:

What are those ropes for?
Bondage. Duh.
NO.
there are boys in this too? o_O
Now I know how japanese multiply and reproduce themselves so fast even after suffering so much casualty after world war II...
... They don't.
Japan has one of the lowest birth rates in the world...
You're confusing it with China, I think.
china's birth rate is expected to be in the negatives in the next 40 years.
india on the other hand is expected to jump to the top 5 in the next 40 years, in the largest population.
wow... somthing from world history class came in handy?
They're very sporting
jejeje
heh... and as I see in the background, this is clearly a coed event. The young men seem to be quite interested in the young lady with the blue bandanna in her hand.
I've seen women participating in fundoshi but I think this is the first time I've ever seen them wearing the guy's traditional outfits... sorry but a rag up my butt seems uncomfortable be I male or female :P
i think its about apearance not how it feels all though being uncomfortable can be good thing too....
or a bad thing. that is why children cry when they piss themselves.
Japanese always sees larger, either for the string ^^
It feels like they're wearing nothing at all...
those aren't ladies, they are elementary school girls.
They're probably wearing sarashi underneath those tops, white cotton wraps.
I'd like to know where and when this festival is celebrated...
