Eroge anime adaptation 恋姫†無双 / Koihime Musou has broadened its appeal further with the introduction of loli dojiko character Koumei, or “Hawawa Gunsou” as she is also known, from her pitiful quailing (“hawawa!”) at the appearance of any enemy; it is an addition which looks to have been very well received, judging by the amount of attention given to the matter by a great many sites. Let us, too, follow suit and see what all the fuss is about…
There is also some fairly restrained service, though none yet involving the new arrival, unless we count persistent head rubbing, and something of a rivalry between Rinrin and the newcomer. In fact this is the main theme.

Koihime Musou seems to have very strong character animation, as well as good overall animation, but I am less than convinced by the garish mock Chinese costumes; these things do have a tendency to look better in CG.
Perhaps it is worth watching for the facial expressions and character deformations alone, though it still has plenty of other charmed fans for whom these elements are secondary.
Still, none of this answers the question of why Hawawa Gunsou is so popular…

This series is pretty light-hearted and nice, not meant for seriousness. Choun is still the character I like the most though, just not into lolies I guess. I wonder if she really is kicked out for the rest of the series lol.
God I do love Chouhi.
I'm really liking Koihime Musou actually, Koumei was an added bonus although it took me time to warm up to her towards the beginning of the episode.
I like this show a lot. For some reason, or many reasons, it's just entertaining. It stretches the references to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms well past the breaking point, but the characters do still relate to their originals, and the stories do, too. And that makes them hilarious, to me. I mean, yuri Cao Cao and fraidy-loli Zhuge Liang are a trip, for sure.
As for the costumes, etc., I enjoy them, especially in the OP. The character designer, Oshima Miwa 大島美和, did Saiunkoku, so she has some experience with fake Chinese costume. Of course, she did Love Love, Cosmopolitan Prayers, and Rizelmine, too....
The whole Three Kingdoms milieu is something I have never been to fond of, so I am not in a great position to appreciate it; however, the quality is plain to see even if tastes lead me astray...
I like multiple kingdoms like the 4 in Fushigi Yuugi.
Rinrin's animated hairpin disturbs me. :P
Though inexplicable, I found it rather charming.
Everyone loves the hairpin lol
