3D Eroge: Their Time is Nigh?

As we have seen, 3D Custom Girl has become a runaway success, due in no small part to a series of patches catering to a variety of tastes; just about any character can be created, and any taste satisfied, in reasonable fidelity.
What of it? Vippers bring us what is probably the definitive gallery of 3D eroge, with a variety of titles featured, but, as you might have guessed, there is an overwhelming focus on the possibilities offered by Tech Arts 3D’s magnum opus, even including some examples of the mods becoming available…
Several other notable 3D titles have also been prominent in recent years, such as Love Death, Artificial Girl or Schoolmate, with the genre seemingly advancing at a reasonable rate, certainly at a much greater rate than the technological stasis afflicting traditional eroge, though not until now having much of a killer app to spur development.
Unfortunately, it looks as though some of the good Vippers have not yet heard of the benefits offered by antialiasing, but let us overlook this.

2D holds more true to a more easily expressable artstyle and shall continue to reign supreme.

lack of antialiasing makes me sad, but gratuitous amounts of delicious cake makes up for it plenty. Asking for both would just be selfish...
