I don’t know about engineers, but programmers get a lot less than that, around 2 to 3 mil annually. To be precise, domestic companies pay shit for programming, some foreign companies pay a lot better. Bandai Namco pays shit for the work their programmers produce. Bottom line, Japan lacks programmer work force. They are offering prison inmates a chance to take programming classes, that’s how bad the situation is.
