It seems every conceivable setting and costume is being explored in the active Haruhi figure market. These latest efforts from the Tokyo Toy Show 2008 caught my eye.

The beach set is modelled on this image; personally I’ll stick to the image, but at least they are adding variety.

Finish does not look very good, but they are cheap… Release due in July. Nagato looks a bit off.

These ones are a step up in quality, though still inexpensive enough at ¥840. Set for release as a set in September. If I’m not mistaken, about the only costume left is the wedding dress? Some of the neko-mimi-dan are lacking too…

Lots of cheap and varied Haruhi figures, or just one very high quality one? Difficult choice.

damn there's too many haruhi figurines...

if only I can buy just the nagato ones

The beach figures are actually gashapons (the small figure that comes with capsule packaging). I think the few earlier series (the beach figures comes from HGIF lines of Bandai's gashapon) have better finish. The second set are trading figures, in which they are slightly bigger than gashapon, and is much better in quality, but more expensive (the beach Haruhi is priced at 300yen each), and packed in a box
