A 77-year-old man brutally slew his entire family, hammering them to death with blows to the head whilst they slept; his victims comprised his wife (75), his son (49), daughter-in-law (44), as well as his 4-year-old granddaughter, in what appears to be a failed murder-suicide.
The man, Yoshio Kiuchi, a retired farmer, called police with the laconic statement “I killed my entire family”, and was soon taken into custody in a state of distress, and was subsequently hospitalised.
Police and paramedics found his entire family already dead in their rural Chiba home, and recovered the blood soaked hammer with which the infamy was entered into; there is, they say, little doubt that he is the culprit. Area residents say he had been in and out of hospital with heart problems, but as yet his motivation remains unclear. Via Mainichi.

What’s with the recent spate of murders? It all seems so……oddly connected.
Or maybe I’m just looking too much into it, this IS still very saddening news.
Heart problems = driven to murder, eh? I know that’s not what’s trying to be said here, but I find that an odd fact to just throw in there.
