Inuyasha is finally set to draw to a close after 11 years of serialisation, it has been announced in the latest instalment, with the next chapter, 558, bringing the story to an end. Creator 高橋留美 / Rumiko Takahashi is said to be planning a prompt start to a new work, to be announced soon, rather than taking the opportunity for a break. Apparently, there are also some concerns over what effect this will have on Shonen Sunday, as Inuyasha was a major title for them.
Hopefully, the series is ended in an appropriate fashion, although with 11 years and 53 volumes it seems unlikely that this was rushed. Via AnimeAnime.

wow you people are asses this show was great you people need to go fuck yorselfs inuyasha fan forever!
They are finishing off the series with a new season (2009/2010).
It'll last until all the idiotic children are gone, and the Yaoi Fangirls are all gone.
Thank you for the love of God! It took 11 fucking years for them to finally get rid of this crap. I wonder how long Naruto will last....
ahh the ship is comeing in I can't beleave that it has been 11 YEARS well all good things come to an end
=(
The anime was as mediocre as they come, but what kept me coming back to the show was sometimes the ending of an episode was just great, it left you with a warm, fuzzy feeling. The show is quite ridiculous though, it's melodrama bordered on humor sometimes, it was hard to take the show seriously the majority of the time :p.
That's on the topic of the show though, I can't attest for the manga, it could of been of a higher quality, instead of resorting to dramatic cries of "KAAAAAAAAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOOOOMEH!" or "INUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASHAAAA!".
It was Dragon ball Z for girls, what more can you say?
You VGCats reader, you.
well, technically his sword is getting Saiyan Upgrade whenever he couldnt beat the opponent.
and with some awkwardly looong romance
yea, i think pantman make his point XD
what does the yasha in inuyasha mean? i know inu means dog but..
Inu = Dog
Yasha = Demon
No that's not right.
Inu = Dog
Ya = Night
Sha = Slash(er)
well, i think the series was great...11years long running series might look bad but until you look at Case Closed and potential Naruto/Bleach...i think its pretty normal for a series to run over a decade
good fucking riddance, should have ended sooner, or even better, it could have never been made in the first place.
no one FORSED you to read it.
Inuyasha was garbage. Also for the sake of ensuring a decent generation of English speaker's, FORCED* (<-- correct spelling)

Dunno', the Inuyasha animu is the generic shounen shit, but I think it's watchable. The mango was quite good too, but I've read only 2 volumes. I don't really get it tough, why are there 53 volumes... But this is just a shounen shit, just as I said it before. If you don't like shounen, just don't watch / read it.
harsh.
I wonder how long her next title will run? Ranma 1/2 continued for 36 books before finally reaching it's end.
The japanese version was 38. viz released some longer volumes.
