Just imagine it the opposite way round - Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

A 16 year old girl committed suicide, hanging herself, apparently in response to a “Die!” comment on her blog, leaving little doubt as to her motivation with a will laying stating her pains. She was said to be in shock after some earlier problems with classmates, and was taking a break from school, so it may be that this was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

This comes after some concern over “学校裏サイト”, or unofficial and distinctly unregulated sites operated in relation to schools, which have also become a medium for bullying and the like.

Measures seem likely to be strengthened against such sites if they continue to be blamed for suicides and related incidents (a variety of other strange incidents stemming from them abound), though it has to be said that the “bullying” (if posting random comments on a blog can be called this) is hardly something which is conducted exclusively, or even commonly, online.

I think it’s because of the girl’s weak personality. If someone is capable of killing oneself because of the mental pressure, than the person wouldn’t survive long in this world if she doesn’t kill herself, no?

I’m inclined to agree… The mass media and company can’t get far insisting these youths take responsibility for their choices in life, so instead we are treated to efforts to vilify the witch of the day.

Weak people who can be driven to death with but a few words over the internet deserve to die. I’m not going to go around condoning the action, or partaking in forms of cyberbullying; in fact, I would rather help someone in that position than leave them be. However, if they do end up dying, I say good riddance.

There is a thing called natural selection, and although our current society is much different from nature, selection must continue.

The website is long gone. It apparently turned out to be a schoolmate…
