“I wanted to see ladies underwear”. A vice-principal who used a Sony PSP, modified to include a camera, to take upskirt photos of schoolgirls on a train has finally had his long running string of voyeuristic excesses brought to a close.
We hear that the deputy headmaster (59) of a Nagoya technical college was arrested for violating public nuisance laws aimed at preventing such covert photography, though it seems this arrest comes late in his career of serial voyeurism – he apparently was caught for same in 2001, but managed to get off with just a pay cut. No details on whether this is a Sony authorised PSP accessory.
The details of his depraved technique are visible above; he was caught red-handed using his PSP on an unsuspecting sleeping high school girl, by a neighbouring passenger in the compartment, and then turned over to the authorities.
This is a story which combines so many elements of classic pieces – we have a delinquent teacher (a vice-principal no less), some covert upskirt photography, schoolgirls (asleep on a train, no less), an old pervert, police incompetence (nothing was done to curb him after earlier photographic excesses), a concealed camera gadget, a Sony PSP, and of course it all takes place on a Japanese train. Truly a multi-genre bonanza.

Sadly, this sort of thing seems almost commonplace amongst Japanese educators; either that, or it is simply much better reported than elsewhere...
I think its do to their prominence in the community that their behavior makes headlines. Obviously there are thousand of such cases we hear nothing about.
