Still, I can't help thinking that the real artistic action in Japan is taking place in the world of anime/games, etc... certainly the money at stake is likely to be greater. Also at the same auction, Yasuyuki Nishio and Aida Makoto sold pieces for a high price. It looks like contemporary Japanese art is getting more popular with collectors.
