Manga Magazine Ranking - Shonen Jump leads the pack

Ever wondered about which manga magazines are popular, and just how popular? I’m afraid I have, and now the Honkawa Data Tribune provides answers in the form of comprehensive circulation figures. The figures are presented below, and of course I have rendered them into English for your perusal (original also provided).

These are circulation figures (number of copies printed) for each title, arranged according to genre/target audience and then ranked by order of sales. It will be no surprise to see Jump leading the pack; in fact it has the largest circulation of any Japanese magazine, selling more than three times as many copies as the highest circulating non-comic magazine. As you can see, there are a lot of magazines in print.

The figures really speak for themselves, so I will refrain from further commentary or analysis.

There are some slight irregularities in the statistics; particularly there are some adult magazines included, but most are omitted. Unfortunate.

The asterisk indicates that the figures are officially confirmed. Data is calculated for the period 2006/9/1 to 2007/8/31.

    makes me want to look all these up to see what type of manga is targeted at a certain audience.

    with how repetitive Shonen Jump can be, i am surprised it's still tops.

    i wonder what growing boys move onto when they pass their SJ phase.
