Seeing this terrifyingly detailed comparison of the differences between DVD and broadcast versions of 俗・さよなら絶望先生/Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei DVD 2 compelled me to watch the DVD… and as I found in my previous look, it is as visually striking as ever, and with great originality, if at times overly reliant on wordplay. It is also strangely fulfilling to take screenshots of.

Unashamed and frequently highly satirical service is one of the best parts of the series.

Sometimes I feel like this when checking Analytics. Are these shameless antics really so interesting? Apparently so. ああ、絶望した！

Spending so long on punning can at times be taxing. My only real complaint about the series.

Straight out of Nausicaa, if I’m not mistaken.

This part where the CVs were all changed was quite disconcerting – masterfully done.

The most visually captivating anime I have seen recently, easily recommended.
